Welcome to 3di GmbH
Our core competence is the manufacture of implants for the facial and cranial areas that are individually tailored to the patient to reconstruct missing or diseased bone. We are a medical technology company based in Jena that has been successfully established in the medical technology industry since 2000. 3di operates internationally – patients in more than 10 countries are supplied with patient-specific implants from Jena.

We offer comprehensive procedures – not just products – and accompany you at every step of the way, from planning to surgery. Our products
Our main products are patient-specific implants for the reconstruction of bone in the facial and cranial areas. With precisely fitting implants and short delivery times, we help you provide the best possible care for your patients.
In addition, various hard and soft tissue models complement our portfolio. These can be patient-specific – for better surgical planning – or non-specific, for learning various treatment techniques or anatomical conditions as part of medical training and continuous education.

Short manufacturing and delivery times
We work quickly, reliably and on schedule to produce the cranioplastics you request. Emergencies can also be handled within 48 hours.
Focus on the patient
You can choose the most suitable implant material for the patient’s defect from three options. The implant price remains the same regardless of the material.
Consideration of case-specific requirements
Experienced designers are available for detailed consultations in order to be able to respond appropriately to defect conditions when planning implants.
Flexibility during surgery
Two of the three materials offered can be processed intraoperatively. We also provide individual fixation options on request and standard perforation for dura sutures.
Expertise for highly complex cases
e. g. resection and implantation as a single-stage operation – no problem. We manufacture custom-fit resection templates and/or provide data for neuronavigation systems.
Personal availability
If you have any questions, we are personally available to assist you and will reliably guide you through all phases of implant planning, manufacture and delivery.
Events
Throughout the year, we attend numerous conferences, events and workshops as industry exhibitor and are always happy to talk to you in person. In addition to the information and display material we bring with us, we are interested in your feedback so that we can continue to optimise our processes and products.

How can I order an implant from 3di?
3di also delivers the patient-specific implants abroad if the admission requirements are met there. We also work with distributors, so please feel free to contact us and we will put you in touch with them.

What are the advantages of 3di’s patient-specific implants?
Reduced effort for the surgeon, lower risk for the patient and fewer follow-up treatments, as well as lower overall treatment costs due to:
- Precise adaptation to the defect area
- Maximum precision even with any degree of complexity
- Material independence of the manufacturing process
- Short manufacturing times and on-time delivery for surgery appointments
How long does it take to manufacture a 3di implant?
We usually need around three working days, but in emergencies we can also provide the implant within 48 hours.
What materials can be used?
In principle, all clinically tested and approved materials can be processed using our method. We currently work with PEEK, BIOVERIT®II and titanium (titanium alloy Ti6Al4V), as these materials offer the most advantages. The material used depends on the defect and the defect area and is determined by the treating physician in consultation with 3di.
